Holly completed her fifth chemo treatment on Monday. This treatment was also the first of the new chemo drug regimen, it's now a single chemo drug administered over a four hour period.
Some good news is that nausea is not a side effect of this drug, but unfortunately there have been some severe body aches and pains she's had to contend with over the past week instead. Thankfully they seem to be subsiding now so hopefully she's in for a good week of enjoying some summer weather.
She also reviewed her recent CT scan results with her oncologist. The scan showed the lung spots were stable which is good news, had they shrunk over the course of chemo that may having indicated they were cancer. The scan also showed nothing of concern in the lymph nodes. She'll have another follow up scan in about three months.
Holly's sister Julie is a fifth grade teacher and had mentioned what Holly was going through to her class one morning recently. When she came back to class after lunch that day she found that the students had all made cards for Holly, which was very touching and sweet.
Thanks to everyone for continuing to support us through this, and happy Fathers Day!
